These coque feathers are rooster tail feathers 6-8 inches in length. The stems are stiffer than the similar schlappen. The feathers are double stitched (sewn) at the stem end for ease in handling. They can be applied as is or taken apart and used in sections or individually. Coque is a versatile and popular decorative feather. Common uses include crafts, fashion applications, costume trim, masks, dance, Carnival, and Tahitian dance costumes.
